The Students' Union may be able to help. We run an Education representation service that can advise on most academic issues.
The service that we provide is impartial, confidential and free! The Students' Union is an independant organisation from the university and we may be in the best position to help you, as there will not be any conflict of interest.
To resolve queries we may need to contact your tutor or programme leader. We would not do this without your permission.
The caseworker can attend this meeting with you. This is to ensure that the meeting is conducted fairly and that anything that you may feel is important or relevant can be put across.
Disiplinary Interviews are likely to occur when a student has breeched the code of conduct. This in some cases can result in imediate suspension until such time as a disiplinary interview can be arranged.
The disiplinary interview is set out in accordance to regulations in the Students' handbook. The regulations are designed to be fair and enable the students to have a fair hearing, all students are entitled to representation through this process.
The caseworker can support you to raise any issues that you may think are affecting your studies. Complaints are dealt with sensitively, impartially, and on a need to know basis.
